GET TO KNOW THE

healing arts collaborative

The Healing Arts Collaborative is a social justice oriented space for continuing education, peer consultation and supervision. We are deeply committed to providing quality care, ethical anti-oppressive healing experiences and expanding access to specialized therapy techniques for individuals who would otherwise face barriers to advanced mental health treatment.

Meet the Collaborative

is this for me?

HAC was created for Therapists, Students, Guides, Healers and Seekers.

Those who are passionate about relieving stress associated with culturally based, ancestral and interpersonal trauma.

The HAC aims to provide ongoing professional development offerings and continuing education opportunities.

the history of the collaborative

HAC was created to bridge the gap between formal training and the greater community of healing arts professionals. The process of integrating new therapy techniques into an existing practice and the layered complexity that can come with deeper process work warrants intentional spaces for exploration of the healer identity. It can be isolating to attend a training or workshop with little to no follow up support. Some consultation and training spaces are priced to support those who are in private practice and those in community mental health settings or non-clinical practice may struggle to access these supports due to financial barriers.

One facet of the HAC is supporting those who are learning psychedelic ethics. There are limited options [for education and consultation that are affordable] for ongoing personal and professional development that focus on integrating psychedelic medicine into modern therapy practices. Our model includes free, pay what you can and donation based options for greater accessibility. The online learning platform provides on demand courses and workshops that focus on psychedelic ethics.

a personal note

Over the last 5 years I've attended peer supervision groups, for working with psychedelic medicine, in which ethical considerations were not emphasized and social justice frameworks were ignored or were not in alignment with the value systems I've cultivated to maintain safety and solidarity in my work.

I have connected with several practitioners who have described having a hard time finding safe, trustworthy connections for peer mentorship, practice circles or group supervision. I have made it my personal mission to cultivate safe spaces for clinicians to learn and grow without fear of judgement or exploitation.

Providing trauma focused or informed care can be draining and isolating for practitioners who may not be supported by a educational community.  My hope is to cultivate safe, intentional spaces for learning and professional identity development.
